Description
TUNGSTEN POWDER is used for making


--sintered and deformed semi-finished products and other articles (bars, sheets, rods, electrodes, wire, crucibles, sputtering targets, molybdenum alloy products);


--electrical contacts (mixed with copper);


--composites with copper, nickel and other metals (pseudo-alloys, heavy alloys);


--directed action pyrotechnics;


--filler of compounds for piezoelectric transducers, etc.

Typical content of tungsten in tungsten powders is 99.986-99.987%.



Mass fraction of W is calculated by deducting the sum of all metal impurities controlled by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) from 100%. Gas-forming impurities such as C, O, N, H, S, F, and Cl are not included in the calculation of the tungsten fraction.


The average particle size of the powder or Fischer sub sieve size (F.s.s.s) is as below:

Powder PW1 – 0.8 - 1.7 microns;

Powder PW2 – 3.8 - 6.0 microns.

The content of particles over 4 microns in PW2 is 40% (by volume) max.

The bulk density of PW2 powder is 3.0 - 5.5 g/ccm.
